Wintry Mix

A Wintry mix of rain/sleet/snow and in some cases even soft hail is affecting Kent currently, turning briefly to snow in any heavier "bursts". This looks to last the day right into the evening before clearing away South-West overnight.
Temperature's on the whole 2-3c although Headcorn aerodrome is recording 0c according to xcweather.co.uk so a bitterly cold day and 15mph wind speeds from the North East or East is not going to help.

Overnight it's modelled to stay just above freezing but with a mostly cloudy night, I think would could shave a degree or two off of that.

Tuesday is looking to be dry with patchy light rain / showers moving into Kent from the NNE for the afternoon, most likely close to rush hour with again - Any heavier parts turning slightly more wintry. 3c average temperatures across Kent and over night low's, hovering at or just below freezing. It could be a slightly slippery start to Wednesday!

Mostly overcast, turning colder

A Mostly cloudy day today but cooler then yesterday with 6-7c maximum in a cool North-East wind. It should remain dry at least until overnight when light rain moves through clearing away by morning. A colder Saturday night down to 3c with light North-Easterly winds veering N-N-E around the surrounding Kent coastline waters.

This wind direction looks to become the main feature of Kent's weather over the next few forecast's it would appear but more details on that as it falls into the NAE timescale.

Sunday keeps the wind flow from a generally NE direction and alot of low cloud similar to Saturday, the temperature looks slightly down once again, only achieving 4-5c. There does appear to be some precipitation moving in for Sunday night. The overnight lows of 1-2c and dewpoint's are more marginal then I'm happy to make a call on.

I'll need to review the charts again Sunday afternoon to see whether this falls as rain or more of a wintry value given we are beginning to see changes afoot back to sleet/snow for the coming week.

Rain, Rain, Go away...

Patchy rain continues most of the day clearing away by early evening to leave an overcast night. Not a bad day temperature wise forecast, maximum of 7-8c but briefly winds picking up into the evening with 30-35mph being likely for a time early Friday morning.

Kicking off Friday and it's another wet start - A weak low pressure system moves East along the channel pushing front's across the county. Heaviest rain Friday morning, easing Friday afternoon with high's of 8 possibly 9c and remaining with a noticeable moderate breeze the further towards the coast you are where as inland, light wind's but not escaping the rain.

There should be a brief dry spell overnight Friday allowing temperatures to fall slightly down to 6c but would it be a surprise if I said Saturday morning is looking to start wet again?
