Cold
Further reports of thunderstorms across Kent yesterday afternoon and evening, what lies in store?
There is a band of moderate/heavy rain moving roughly North East off of the French coastline. There does not appear to be any thunderstorms associated with the rain so far and the 06z GFS looks mostly stable.
Temperatures today are peaking about 9-10c. The cloud cover should also break as we go through the afternoon before the rainband moves in.
The forecast model, NAE is going for a drier night Tuesday into Wednesday but it will be colder then we have seen lately down to 4c! This means a cold Wednesday to come and a marginal day too.
A Very windy Wednesday to start with where we could be seeing 30-40mph wind speeds, one to watch as we set about our day. We also look like having a return to light to moderate showers during the day and with temperatures hitting 5c we could see some wintry showers (dew points and upper air temperatures suggest rain at this stage).
The precipitation eases with the wind as the day progresses into Wednesday night and a very cold night to come with temperatures close to freezing.
